Possible Suspect Identified in Linn County Hit and Run

Linn County authorities say a possible suspect has been identified in a hit and run.

On Tuesday, the Linn County Sheriff’s Office asked the public’s help in finding the driver involved in a hit and run accident that happened last week Thursday night around 6 pm on Highway 13 and Vernon Valley Drive east of Cedar Rapids.

A black Chevy Silverado 1500 pulling a red tandem axle utility trailer was involved in a collision in the southbound lanes and left the scene. Three occupants in the other vehicle, a Kia Optima, were transported to St. Luke’s Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Late Tuesday night, the Linn County Sheriff’s Office announced that with thanks to help from the public, a possible suspect has been identified  – and the investigation continues.
