A man has died in a lawnmower accident in Buchanan County.
The Buchanan County Sheriff’s Office says they received a 911 report on Thursday shortly before 1 pm of an equipment accident in the 1000 block of 160th Street north of Jesup in which a man was pinned under a lawnmower.
Emergency services were immediately dispatched. According to an investigation, a man was attempting to load a commercial grade lawnmower onto a trailer when it tipped off the side of the trailer and rolled upside down, pinning the man underneath.
Firefighters were able to stabilize the mower and remove the man from under it. Life-saving measures were administered, but the man was pronounced dead.
The victim’s name is being withheld until family has been notified.
The incident remains under investigation.
