It’s Great Jones County Fair week in Monticello.
Reigning CMA and ACM Entertainer of the Year Lainey Wilson performed to a sold-out crowd on Thursday night. And Office Manager Abby Jaeger says they’re expecting a great turnout for Friday night’s Creed concert too.
One of the nearly thirty food vendors on the fairgrounds this year is Ice Cream Island from Monticello. Katie Roher says it’s fun being part of the fair in your hometown.
Anamosa senior Addy Appelhans was crowned the 2024 Great Jones County Fair Queen on Tuesday night, with Monticello senior Kendall Siebels named Fair Princess. Appelhans says it’s difficult to narrow down what she loves most about fair week.
The Great Jones County Fair continues through the weekend, with country concerts from Cody Johnson on Saturday and Linn County native Hailey Whitters on Sunday.
