Manchester City Council Approves Livestock Requests

The Manchester City Council has given their okay for livestock to be housed at a property within the city limits.
Wayne and Niki Miranda are in the process of purchasing property at 245 Park Drive, which is just over 21 acres on the edge of Manchester by the hospital. The Mirandas are requesting permission to house livestock on the site – primarily two cow/calf pairs, four ponies and a horse.
Manchester Code of Ordinances says certain animals, including cattle and horses, are not allowed within the City unless the City Council grants a special exception, which they did on Monday night.
Over the past few years, the City Council has also approved several requests to house chickens within the city limits, with a request from Eric Vaske on North 4th Street the latest to be approved at Monday’s council meeting.
