Trial will be held this fall for an Edgewood woman who was involved in a fatal UTV crash.
27-year old Hanna Meese is charged with Homicide by Vehicle – Operating While Intoxicated.
Authorities say Meese was driving a UTV on May 2nd, 2021 on Woods Edge Drive when she lost control on a curve. Both she and her passenger, Jordan Cabalka of Edgewood, were ejected. Cabalka died at the scene. Meese suffered serious injuries and was hospitalized at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics.
Meese had previously entered a guilty plea to Involuntary Manslaughter, but District Judge Monica Ackley rejected the plea.
Both parties were unable to reach a different plea agreement. Trial is set for September 25th.
