Passenger Seriously Injured after Falling Off Golf Cart

One person was seriously injured after falling off a golf cart in Delaware County on Saturday night.
The Delaware County Sheriff’s Office says a golf cart carrying four people was heading west on 262nd Street (a privately-owned roadway) when one of the back passengers fell off as the golf cart rounded a corner.
The passenger, 57-year old Teddy Glover of O’Fallon, Illinois, struck his head on the pavement. When law enforcement arrived, Glover was found lying on the road with a large laceration to the back of his head. He was transported by ambulance to Regional Medical Center in Manchester.
The Sheriff’s Office says the driver, 55-year old Travis Niehaus of Delhi, admitted to consuming alcohol. He told authorities the golf cart was traveling between ten and fifteen miles per hour when Glover fell off.
Niehaus has been charged with Serious Injury by Vehicle.
