Sleep in Heavenly Peace Hosting Bed Build in Manchester

Sleep in Heavenly Peace is holding a Bed Build Day today in Manchester.

It’s an organization that builds beds for kids in the Delaware County area who don’t have one. The project actually got its start in Idaho, catching the eye of Hopkinton resident and local banker Keith Kramer, who learned about the process and started a chapter in Delaware County a few years ago – all with the goal to provide beds for kids in our hometowns who have been sleeping without a bed to call their own.

Sleep in Heavenly Peace has now delivered nearly four hundred beds to kids who need one in the Delaware County area – along with a new mattress and bedding – and it’s all done confidentially.

Today, they’ll be building those beds – with dozens of volunteers coming together. Anyone can help – Kramer says there are even jobs that the kids can help with, such as sanding – so all ages are welcome.

Kramer just appreciates everyone who is so willing to help.

Today’s Bed Build begins at 1 pm at the Delaware County Fairgrounds – you can just show up. And if you’d like to request a bed for a child between the ages of 3 and 17 years old, you can go online to shpbeds.org or call Keith at 920-6256.
