Delaware County Extension Hosting Farmland Leasing & Management Workshop

Iowa State University Extension and Outreach Delaware County will host a Farmland Leasing and Management Workshop on Wednesday, August 14th at 1 p.m. at the Delaware County Community Center in Manchester.

This annual workshop is designed to share educational resources related to Iowa farmland ownership and tenancy with Iowa farmland owners, tenants, and others involved in agricultural production in the state.

Each workshop attendee will receive a booklet of reference materials for farm leasing arrangements. The workshop will last 2 1/2 to 3 hours and will be led by Joseph Lensing, Iowa State University Extension and Outreach Farm Management Specialist for Northeast Iowa. The workshop will focus on trends in land values, rental rates, landownership and tenure, incorporating conservation practices on leased farmland, and issues impacting rental rates for the next year in Iowa agriculture.

Cost of the program is $20 per person.  Pre-registration is required by contacting the ISU Extension and Outreach Delaware County Office at 563-927-4201 or register online by clicking here.

For those unable to attend on August 14th, there is a virtual option available, more information can be found at extension.iastate.edu/agdm.
