A pedestrian was hit by a vehicle in Dubuque County on Thursday night.
The Dubuque County Sheriff’s Office says their deputies, along with Asbury Police, Iowa State Patrol and Sherrill EMS, responded to Highway 3 near Northwest Arterial in Dubuque shortly after 9 pm.
An investigation shows the victim, 58-year old Kelli Hayes of Dubuque, entered the roadway to help clean up debris from an earlier accident. She was struck by a vehicle driven by 22-year old Annika Neumann, also of Dubuque.
Hayes was transported to Finley Hospital with serious injuries.
The investigation is ongoing.
