Fairbank Native and Author Seeks Beta Readers for New Novel

Fairbank native and novelist Betty Brandt Passick is seeking beta readers for a third historical crime novel in her gangster series.

The working title for the new novel is Before You Go. It’s a story about a sharp-witted, high-strung embattled woman and pillar in the community, along with a young boy, who are at the center of the story of love, addiction, sacrifice, and murder in the 1870s.

Beta readers provide initial feedback to the writer as a manuscript is being written about storyline, plot, subplots, and characters. Anyone who enjoys reading books, has good reading comprehension, and is able to provide thoughtful feedback within a short window of time over a duration of several months qualifies to be a beta reader.

“Beta readers get to experience the extra ordinary journey into the development of a novel. I’m extremely grateful to those who’ve been beta readers for the novels thus far, and played an integral part in preserving these Iowa stories,” Passick said.

Anyone interested is encouraged to apply through BettyBrandtPassick.com by October 1st.
