First Day to Request Absentee Ballot by Mail for November Election

Today is the first day that voters can submit their request to receive an absentee ballot by mail for the November general election.

Delaware County voters can find the form to request an absentee ballot on the Delaware County Elections website at delawarecountyelections.iowa.gov under “How Do I Vote?”, “Vote By Mail”.

Voters can complete the form, print it out, sign and date the form and mail it to the Delaware County Auditor’s Office at 301 E. Main Street Room 210 in Manchester. Please note, when completing your request form, you must include your Iowa Driver’s License number OR your Iowa Non-Operator ID number if you have one. If you do NOT have one of these forms of identification, you can submit the Voter PIN NUMBER provided to you by the Delaware County Auditor’s Office. Please include your phone number or other contact information to assist the Auditor’s Office in communicating with you about your submitted form.

Only one request form is needed for each voter. The first day for the Auditor’s Office to mail out requested absentee ballots will be Wednesday, October 16th. The last day to submit a request form to receive an absentee ballot by mail is Monday, October 21st by 5 pm.

In-person absentee voting at the Delaware County Auditor’s Office will begin on Wednesday, October 16th at 8 am and run through Monday, November 4th at 4:30 pm.

If you have any questions about voting in the November 5th general election, feel free to reach out to the Delaware County Auditor’s Office or your local county auditor.
