Firefighters Respond to Fire at Best Cob in Independence

Firefighters responded to a fire at Best Cob in Independence early Wednesday.

The Independence Fire Department says they were dispatched to 1875 Bland Boulevard around 4:30 am. On the scene, crews were directed into an area that contained manufactured products and found a small fire, which they were able to quickly put out.

Due to the nature of the products manufactured, crews stayed on the scene to assist in moving the product out of the warehouse and to an outside location. Once the product was outside, workers spread out the materials and crews put out any hot spots or flare ups.

Several other agencies responded to the scene as well.

One Independence firefighter suffered minor injuries and was checked over by ambulance personnel at the scene – the firefighter was treated and released.

No other injuries were reported.
