Flags Flying Half-Staff to Honor 9-11 Anniversary

Flags are flying half-staff today in honor of Patriot Day and in memory of those who lost their lives on 9-11.
Today marks 23 years since the terrorist attacks on September 11th, 2001.
Nearly 3,000 Americans died in the national tragedy, including hundreds of first responders who ran in to save the victims in the Twin Towers in New York City.
Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds says she stands with every American on Patriot Day to honor and forever remember the thousands who senselessly lost their lives and their families who will always long for their loved ones. “They will never be forgotten.”
Governor Reynolds has ordered flags to fly at half-staff on the State Capitol Building and on flag displays in the Capitol Complex. Flags are also flying half-staff on all public buildings, grounds and facilities throughout the state.
Individuals, businesses, schools and others are also encouraged to fly the flag at half-staff through sunset tonight as a sign of respect.
