State Parks Seeking Volunteers for Clean-Up Day

Would you like to spend a day outside helping one of our state parks?
Iowa state parks have set Saturday, September 28th as annual Volunteer Day, when Iowans are invited to join park staff and lend a hand at several state parks and forests.
The Iowa DNR says clean-up efforts will be unique for each park depending on needs. You may be picking up litter, staining or painting buildings, removing invasive species, rebuilding picnic tables or harvesting prairie seeds.
Over a dozen state parks are holding a Volunteer Day, including Wapsipinicon State Park in Anamosa, Pikes Peak State Park in McGregor and Mines of Spain State Park in Dubuque.
If you’re interested in volunteering, you can find complete details on times, meeting locations and activities at iowadnr.gov/volunteer.
