Perfect Weather Allows Harvest to Move Quickly

This perfect weather has allowed the harvest to move at a quick pace this year.
It’s not often farmers are blessed with day after day of sunshine and warm temperatures during the fall harvest – so they’re enjoying it. Andy Sabers farms north of Manchester.
Alan Atwater farms southwest of Manchester. He says the harvest has pretty much been non-stop since they started.
As of Monday, twenty-two percent of the state’s corn has been harvested – that’s a day ahead of normal. The soybean harvested has reached 58-percent complete – one week ahead of average.
Cooler weather is forecasted by Monday with highs only in the 50s, but the dry weather is expected to continue into early next week.
