A burn ban is now in effect for Linn County.
The ban, issued by the State Fire Marshal, took effect on Thursday.
A burn ban means open burning is prohibited because conditions are dangerous to life or property.
A burn ban also remains in effect for Delaware County, as well as Buchanan, Fayette, Clayton and Dubuque counties. Jones County is the only county in the KMCH listening area that is not currently under a burn ban.
The burn bans are in effect until further notice.
