Iowa Pork Producers Name ‘Best Breaded Pork Tenderloin’ Winner

The Iowa Pork Producers have named the winner of their “Best Breaded Pork Tenderloin” contest – and this year, it goes to the Dairy Sweet in the western Iowa town of Dunlap.

Lori Thomsen and her husband, Greg, own the Dairy Sweet. She says it’s special because her parents won it nearly two decades ago.

Thomsen says the Dairy Sweet has quite the following for their tenderloins.

The Dairy Sweet receives a 500 dollar cash prize, a plaque, and a banner to let everyone know they won. This year’s runner-up is Ruby’s Bar & Grill in Stuart. Two Monticello restaurants made it into the top five this year – The Market at the Tap and The Blind Pig.

Over five hundred restaurants across Iowa were nominated for the honor this year.
