Late Rain Keeps October Out of Record Books

It took awhile this fall – but the rain has finally found us.

And State Climatologist Justin Glisan says the rain this past week will help keep October out of the record books.

He says much of the state got some rainfall to impact the average for October, though it still ended up below normal.

Manchester received two-point-three inches of rain last Wednesday into early Thursday – it was the only measurable rainfall we saw all month. And rain chances continue through Tuesday.

More seasonable temperatures have also settled in as we kick off November – that comes after a very warm October.

Glisan says the early indicators for the rest of November are showing the potential for above average temperatures, with better chances for precipitation too.
