Delaware County Voter Turnout Nearly Ties 2020 Record

Delaware County’s voter turnout nearly tied the record turnout seen just four years in the last presidential election.

County Auditor Carla Becker says unofficial turnout for this election was 81-point-68 percent. That’s JUST below the 82-point-04 percent turnout seen in 2020. The voter turnout in Delaware County for the 2016 presidential election was slightly lower than both of those years at 78-point-99 percent.

Becker says as of October 4th, there were a total of 12,423 registered voters in Delaware County:

  • 5,169 Republicans
  • 2,393 Democrats
  • 51 Libertarians
  • 12 other
  • 4,798 with no party affiliation

Becker says it’s not known yet exactly how many votes were cast from each party in this general election.

Of the 10,199 total votes cast, about a third of them were absentee.

Trump won Delaware County with nearly 69-percent of the vote, while Hinson won Delaware County with just over 70-percent of the vote.

You can find a complete breakdown of the votes cast in Delaware County on the Iowa Secretary of State’s website.
