Open House for New Dyersville Child Care Center

The Dyersville community is celebrating the opening of its new child care center. 

The Michael and Jean Knepper Child Care Center is located in the 20 West Industrial Park on the west edge of Dyersville at 2365 Industrial Parkway Southwest. The project broke ground in August 2023. The center is expected to be fully operational by late November.

The new 17,500 square foot space has a capacity of nearly 250 spots – more than doubling the Kid Project’s current 30-year-old facility. 

Construction of the new center was spearheaded by the Dyersville Economic Development Corporation and the Dyersville Area Community Foundation. Funding sources included $1 million from Michael and Jean Knepper and $1.75 million from a state grant, as well as funds from county and local governments, area citizens and businesses whose employees are in need of more child care spots.

The public is invited to stop by to see the new child care center during an open house on Friday from 3 to 7 pm. A dedication will be held at 2:30 pm, with Governor Kim Reynolds planning to attend.
