Maquoketa River Watershed Hosting ‘Common Ground’ Documentary Showing

The Maquoketa River Watershed Management Authority will be hosting a free documentary film showing of “Common Ground” at the Castle Theatre in Manchester next week.
“Common Ground” is the sequel to the documentary “Kiss the Ground”. The Maquoketa River Watershed Management Authority says the film documents how “unjust practices have forged the current farm system”. The film also profiles a movement of white, black, and indigenous farmers who use alternative “regenerative” models of agriculture.
The viewing is set for Tuesday night at 6 pm, with the doors opening at 5:30 pm.
Audience members are invited to stay following the film for a panel discussion from local farmers sharing their own regenerative stories, including a representative from Rodale Institute Midwest Organic Center.
There is no charge to view the documentary, but ticket reservations are required – they can be reserved at the Castle Theatre website or at https://bit.ly/WMA-commonground.
