City of Manchester Honors Resident & Two Officers

The City of Manchester has honored one of their residents and two of their police officers.

Manchester resident Joe Davis was presented with the City’s Nice Neighbor Award. Council member Joe Dittrick nominated Davis for the award. Davis was recognized for picking up trash and other debris from parking lots, city parks and anywhere along his traveled routes. Anyone can be nominated for Manchester’s Nice Neighbor Award for doing good deeds in the community – reach out to the Manchester City Hall with your nomination.

Manchester Police Chief Ben Davis also presented two officers with the City’s Letter of Commendation. Officer Nick Hall was recognized for his outstanding service in the field of OWI enforcement and covering in times of need. “Officer Hall has been thrust into a myriad of tough calls and has been solo due to low staffing and officer injury,” says Chief Davis. “Officer Hall remains calm, cool, and professional in his interactions where he has been assaulted, spit on, and screamed at. Due to his low years of service, he exudes a demeanor that of a veteran officer. He was awarded a commendation for his on-the-job performance and expertise in actions.”

Sergeant David Trumblee was recognized for being instrumental in updating and promoting change throughout the department – taking Chief Davis’ ideas and merging them with the “wants” of the department and helping to facilitate a seamless transition. “Combining my image of what I want the Manchester Police to look like, as well as the years of experience he has working with the community, helped facilitate needed and wanted changes to both policy or direction,” says Chief Davis. “Sgt. Trumblee is the first to show up and the last to leave in department operations. He always looks out for his peers and officers and helped facilitate the modernization of department procedures.”

Chief Davis says he plans to continue showcasing the Manchester Police Department’s expertise through awards such as this as special circumstances arrive.
