One of Western Dubuque’s most famous alumni in recent years took some time Thursday to give back to his old school district.
Chicago White Sox draft pick Calvin Harris, a 2020 Bobcat graduate, served as a guest server for Dyersville Elementary’s annual Thanksgiving Day meal. Harris was chosen by the White Sox in the fourth round of last year’s Major League Baseball Draft.
Dyersville Elementary shared the excitement on their Facebook page, saying their students loved interacting with Harris, getting autographs, and hearing his story. The school says it was an inspiring opportunity for the young Bobcat students to see how dedication to academics and athletics can truly pay off.
