Authorities Release Names in Springville Home Shooting

Authorities have released the names of the two people who died in a shooting at a home in Springville.

The Linn County Sheriff’s Office says deputies were called to 718 Wild Pine Court shortly before 4 pm on Sunday for two people found dead. Linn County Sheriff Rescue 57, Iowa State Patrol, Springville Fire Department and Anamosa Ambulance Service also responded. Upon arriving, first responders found two people with apparent gunshot wounds.

On Monday afternoon, the Sheriff’s Office identified the two victims as 69-year old Robert Lee Richmond, Jr. and 67-year old Janice Colleen Richmond, both of Springville. 

This investigation is still ongoing while waiting for additional information from the State Medical Examiner’s Office and investigators. The Sheriff’s Office again reiterates there are no dangers to the public in regard to this incident.
