Bobcat Community Mourning Student Following Fatal Crash

The Western Dubuque Community School District is mourning the loss of one of their students.

18-year old Brayden Domeyer of Farley died following a rollover crash in Dubuque County early Saturday. The Dubuque County Sheriff’s Office says Domeyer was a passenger in a vehicle that lost control on Highway 20 near Hartbecke Road shortly after midnight. The driver, 18-year old Bodee Pitts of Farley, and two other passengers, 18-year old Reegan Merkes and 19-year old Ashton Pitts, were taken to the hospital for serious and minor injuries.

Domeyer was a senior at Western Dubuque High School in Epworth. Superintendent Dan Butler says his loss has deeply impacted their school community. “Brayden was loved by many and will be deeply missed,” says Butler. “Our thoughts are with his family, friends and all who knew him.” Counseling services have been available to Western Dubuque students this week.

Funeral services will be held Friday at 11 am at Reiff Funeral Home in Farley, with visitation taking place today.
