Delhi Hosting Holiday Lights Celebration

The Delhi Betterment Committee invites you to ring in the holiday season with their annual Holiday Lights Celebration this Saturday night.

The event runs from 5 to 7 pm – and this year’s theme is “A Charlie Brown Christmas”. Committee member Karla Thompson says they’ll kick off the night with a tree lighting ceremony at Sawyers’ iconic tree.

Delhi’s American Legion Community Center will be serving chili, soups, and homemade desserts while hosting a new event this year – Maquoketa Valley High School’s Festival of Trees, featuring stunning student-decorated trees. And Thompson says you can vote for your favorite.

Santa and Mrs. Claus will also be at the Sternhagen property, so kids can stop by and get a goody bag. Then enjoy a scenic drive through Delhi showcasing merry windows and outdoor displays by local businesses. And another new activity debuts this year – “The 12 Days of Delhi” Christmas Scavenger Hunt.

You can find more information about Delhi’s Holiday Lights Celebration coming up Saturday on the Delhi Betterment Committee’s Facebook page.
