Icy Weather Forecasted for Saturday

The first major weather system of the year is forecasted to move into eastern Iowa early Saturday morning.

National Weather Service meteorologist Donna Dubberke says we could see a mix of rain, freezing rain and snow. Drivers statewide will likely have to contend with slick, ice-covered roads – though the Ice Storm Warning for the counties in east-central Iowa could be especially hazardous.

On the plus side, she says any ice that accumulates shouldn’t be around too long.

The forecast calls for Sunday to be dry and warmer, with highs in the upper 30’s and lower 40’s statewide.
