Manchester Hosting Community Blood Drive

If you’re looking for a way to give back this holiday season, you can donate blood at one of two local blood drives going on Wednesday.
The Manchester Community Blood Drive is being held from 11 am to 5:30 pm at the Delaware County Community Center at the fairgrounds. The Red Cross is facing a blood shortage right now – and with someone in the U.S. needing blood every two seconds, donations are needed.
Coordinator Alison Winn says donor appointments are on the low side, with only around 50 appointments scheduled for the 80 available slots as of Monday night – so your help would be appreciated. She says it’s easy to donate – with some incentives too.
To schedule an appointment for the Manchester Community Blood Drive, visit redcrossblood.org and enter sponsor code ManchesterIA or call Nicole at 563-275-0597.
The Starmont Student Council is also hosting their annual Red Cross blood drive on Wednesday at the high school cafe from 1:30 to 6:30 pm. To schedule an appointment, call the school at 933-2218.
