Delaware County Tourism Making New Efforts to Draw More Visitors

Delaware County Tourism has been making some efforts to grow their reach this year.
Tourism Director Maggie Sommers says as the world becomes more digital, their office is transforming to make sure they’re growing in that way too. One of those ways is the new Delaware County Tourism website.
And people have been able to request Delaware County Tourism Guides through the website too.
Sommers says they’re also now able to track how many visitors are coming into Delaware County – and where they’re coming from. She says the data shows over 80,000 visitors came to Delaware County this year. The data also shows over sixty-percent are coming from the Cedar Rapids, Waterloo and Dubuque areas – mostly during the summer, with the majority doing day trips on Fridays and Saturdays.
Delaware County Tourism’s goals for 2025 include increasing their website traffic, growing their social media engagement and partnering with a content creator to showcase Delaware County’s unique attractions.
And if you have an event coming up next year, you’re welcome to share that with Delaware County Tourism so they can include it on their website and 2025 tourism guides – check out their Facebook page to submit your information. Check out their website for some of the events already listed at delawarecountyiowatourism.com.
