Jones County Supervisors Filling Vacancy

The Jones County Board of Supervisors is filling a vacancy.
Supervisor Ned Rohwedder retired from the Board last Friday, January 3rd after serving the county for fourteen years.
The Board intends to make an appointment to fill the vacancy on Wednesday, February 5th. Eligible residents in District 4 interested in the appointment should submit a letter of interest and resume to the Auditor, Recorder and Treasurer at the courthouse or by email no later than 4:30 pm on Monday, January 27th.
Interviews with eligible candidates will be conducted by the committee on Friday night, January 31st at 6 pm at the Anamosa Public Library. The public is welcome to attend.
The appointment made by the committee will be valid until the results of the November 2026 general election are certified. However, Jones County citizens may request a special election to fill the vacancy – a petition containing the signatures of at least 1,106 eligible Jones County voters would need to be filed with the Jones County Auditor within fourteen days after the appointment is made.
