We could see some light snow and freezing rain this weekend.
The National Weather Service says a system will make its way into eastern Iowa late Saturday night into Sunday morning. The system is expected to start off as snow, possibly mixed with freezing rain, mainly after midnight. It will gradually change over to all snow by Sunday morning before wrapping up by the afternoon.
Forecasters say up to one and a half inches of snow is possible across the area, along with up to one-tenth of an inch of ice.
Colder weather will move in after this system, with highs only around 12 on Monday. Highs should rebound back above freezing into the 30s by Thursday.
