Girl Scouts Begin Annual Cookie Sales

Girl Scouts in the area have started their annual cookie sales.

The Girl Scouts of Eastern Iowa and Western Illinois are offering your favorites – Thin Mints, Samoas, Tagalongs, S’mores, Adventurefuls, Do-si-dos, Trefoils, Lemon-Ups and the gluten-free Toffee-tastic.

All Girl Scout cookies cost six dollars per box.

If you know a registered Girl Scout, reach out to learn how they’re selling cookies. If you don’t know a Girl Scout, you can use the Girl Scout Cookie Finder at GirlScoutsToday.org to purchase cookies. You can order cookies from a nearby troop and have the Girl Scout cookies shipped to your home – or you can find a Cookie Booth, which will be popping around the area February 7th through March 23rd.

The Girl Scout Cookie Program is the largest entrepreneurial program in the world – giving Girl Scouts the opportunity to acquire invaluable entrepreneurial skills, such as goal setting, money management, decision-making, people skills, and business ethics. The girls obtain transferable life skills by earning a variety of badges and awards, including cookie business badges, financial literacy badges, cookie entrepreneurial family pins, and entrepreneurial badges.

This season, Girl Scouts of Eastern Iowa and Western Illinois call on community members to support their favorite cookies—and the girls behind each box. All proceeds from cookie sales stay local to fuel inspiring experiences throughout the year, including camp, service projects, amazing trips and much more.
