Manchester Man Charged with Grooming Child

A Manchester man has been charged with grooming a child.
The Delaware County Sheriff’s Office says 38-year old Michael Fleming was arrested at his home on January 15th. A warrant was issued for Fleming’s arrest following a complaint filed with the Sheriff’s Office.
According to the complaint and affidavit, a parent contacted authorities on October 20th to report that their minor daughter was receiving inappropriate messages from an adult male, who was later identified as Fleming. Upon investigating, an officer found numerous videos, memes, stickers, emojis and messages that were sexually suggestive sent to the child from Fleming. The complaint claims Fleming had been messaging the child on social media for about two months, with the messages starting once she got TikTok.
A no-contact order was requested.
Grooming is a Class D felony in Iowa.
The Sheriff’s Office says Fleming has bonded out of the Delaware County Jail.
