Very High Fire Danger for Eastern Iowa

A very high fire danger is in place for eastern Iowa once again today.
The National Weather Service highly recommend avoiding any activities that can easily start a fire today.
Forecasters say strong gusty winds up to 45 mph this afternoon combined with low humidity and mild temperatures are the reason for that fire danger. Any fires that develop will spread quickly.
The strongest wind gusts are expected between 1 and 4:30 pm this afternoon.
Mild temperatures are forecasted through the weekend, with a chance of rain Thursday night into Friday morning.
