Grassley Shares Thoughts on President Trump’s First Two Weeks

It’s been two weeks since Donald Trump was sworn in as president – with a number of changes already taking place in that short time.
KMCH News Director Janelle Tucker had an opportunity to visit with U.S. Senator Chuck Grassley one-on-one during his weekly Capitol Hill report on Monday. Grassley tells KMCH that he’s seeing some good things in the early days of Trump’s presidency.
However, Senator Grassley says he doesn’t necessarily share the same ideologies with the President when it comes to trade.
Several tariff developments were unfolding quickly on Monday.
Over the past two weeks, confirmation hearings for Trump’s cabinet have also been in the spotlight, with eight of 22 nominees confirmed as of Saturday.
Grassley highlights some of the other priorities right now in the U.S. Senate.
That fentanyl hearing is taking place today. Grassley also notes that the Senate Committee on Commerce, Science and Transportation will be looking for answers about the cause of last week’s mid-air collision in D.C..
