Manchester Police Looking for Identified Suspect in Liquor Store Burglary

Manchester Police are looking for an identified suspect who may be connected to a burglary at a Manchester business.
According to a press release from the Manchester Police Department, the Cork N’ Bottle liquor store in Manchester was burglarized by two unknown suspects with a crowbar and pry tools on December 31st shortly before 1 am. Petty cash and cigarettes were stolen, with both suspects using various means to conceal their identity. Several other businesses across Iowa were burglarized in the same manner with possible matching suspects.

On January 16th, Manchester Police and a number of other agencies assisted the Tama County Sheriff’s Office in executing two search warrants simultaneously in Marshalltown. Two homes and vehicles were searched, one of which was a green 2003 Chevy Silverado. That model truck with specific identifiers was captured on a surveillance video near burglaries in Manchester, Ryan and Luxemburg. A transaction receipt from Manchester’s Kwik Star was found in the glovebox of the Marshalltown operation. The receipt was logged about one hour before the break-in, with $20 of gasoline pumped. The passenger in the same green Silverado entered Kwik Star, paying in cash. Before leaving, two phone numbers were provided to obtain reward points.
The passenger, 65-year old Kevin Young of Cedar Rapids, was identified wearing the same clothing an hour later inside the liquor store, except for a face mask.
Young has warrants for his arrest, including burglary and possession of burglar tools. He is currently at large (pictured below). If you have any information of Young’s whereabouts, please contact your local authorities.
This investigation is ongoing and may yield other charges.
Manchester Police would like to thank the various agencies and state departments who worked diligently to assist with this case.
