Two Rounds of Snow Arrive This Weekend in Eastern Iowa

Posted Friday 3:30 pm

Wintery weather returns for the weekend across eastern Iowa.

The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for the entire KMCH listening area, including Delaware, Dubuque, Buchanan, Jones, Linn, Clayton and Fayette counties until Saturday evening.

Forecasters say a quick-moving system could bring one to two inches of snow later this afternoon into early this evening, possibly impacting the evening commute. A second round could bring another one to three inches of snow tomorrow morning before tapering off in the afternoon and evening. Winds will also be gusting up to 35 miles per hour, leading to the potential for reduced visibilities.

Weather-related announcements can be found on kmch.com.

Bitterly cold air moves in next week, with highs only in the single digits Sunday through Thursday and lows well below zero.
