Manchester Library Hosting Ruth Suckow Traveling Exhibit

The Manchester Public Library is hosting the Ruth Suckow Traveling Exhibit for several weeks.

With the support of Humanities Iowa, the Ruth Suckow Memorial Association has created this traveling exhibit, which celebrates the life and work of Iowa novelist and short story writer Ruth Suckow.

Suckow lived from 1892 to 1960. She’s considered Iowa’s Willa Cather, but not as well known. In nine novels and 43 short stories – most set in Iowa – Suckow captured ordinary people’s lives, passions, and struggles in their small towns and farms. She lived in twelve Iowa communities over her 68 years, including Earlville and Manchester.

The exhibit arrived at the Manchester library last week and will be available through March 15th, with a special presentation this Saturday at 1 pm.
