Delaware County Dairy Banquet Held Saturday

A great gathering of Dairy Farm Families and supporters gathered Saturday for the Annual Dairy Banquet. While the Delaware County Cattlemen cooked up steak sandwiches, folks had a chance to gather and celebrate the County’s dairy industry. Among the accolades was the crowning of the 2025 Dairy Princess, McKayla Weber.

McKayla explained the process

Her goals for the coming year?

Kelsey Hoeger was selected as the Alternate Princess…Kessa Hoeger was selected as Little Miss Squirt…and Mason Weber was chosen as the Little Herdsman.

The 2025 Iowa Dairy Princess, Haley Ronnebaum was in attendance as well. A Delaware County Native, Ronnebaum described just some of the stops along her rein as the Iowa Dairy Princess.

A student now at Iowa State, Ronnebaum says this year has certainly been a learning experience for her.

It was a good night for the Weber Family as later in the evening, the Distinguished Dairyman Award was presented to McKayla’s parents, Jerry and Lisa Weber.

Also receiving recognition Saturday was the Young Dairy Family Award recipient, Curt and Sarah Honkomp. Curt admits he was surprised to receive the honor.

The Honkomp’s continue an operation that began with Curt’s Grandparents back in 1936.

Sarah expressed her appreciation, too

Other awards included the Distinguished Dairy Service Award to Dave Kramer, the Lone Pine in Colesburg received this year’s Golden Butterknife Award and Caden Ronnenbaum and Caden Ries each received the Exemplary Dairy Employee Award.
