Burn Ban Issued for Linn County

The State Fire Marshal has issued a burn ban for Linn County.

The current weather conditions of gusty winds, warm temperatures and dry conditions are causing concern that fires will spread out of control.

Linn County’s burn ban went into effect Monday at noon and will run until further notice. As of Monday afternoon, eight other counties in Iowa had active burn bans – none of the others are in the KMCH listening area.

The warm and dry weather is expected to last all week, with a chance of storms on Friday and cooler weather for the weekend.
