A Red Flag Warning is in effect for eastern Iowa on Monday.
The National Weather Service says the combination of strong southerly winds gusting up to 45 miles per hour, relative humidity as low as 23 percent, and dry conditions are leading to critical fire weather conditions today. If a fire were to start, it would likely spread quickly and be difficult to extinguish. As a result, any outdoor burning is not recommended.
The Red Flag Warning runs until 8 pm tonight.
Rain is expected to move in Tuesday night into Wednesday, with a chance for snow late Wednesday night.
