Seventeen Applications for Vacant Linn County Supervisor Seat

Linn County has received seventeen applications for their vacant District 2 Supervisor seat.
Applications for the vacancy were due by midnight Sunday night. Linn County Supervisor Ben Rogers announced last month that he is leaving the Board of Supervisors for a position with UnityPoint Health – St. Luke’s Foundation, effective April 1st.
During a public meeting earlier this month, Linn County Auditor Todd Taylor, Recorder Carolyn Siebrecht, and Treasurer Brent Oleson voted to fill the District 2 Board of Supervisor vacancy by appointment because the committee did not receive a valid petition from electors in District 2 to trigger a special election.
Among the applicants for the Linn County Supervisor seat are:
- Anne Harris Carter
- Brandon Eales
- Alvin Ehler
- Jennifer Fishwild
- Kris Gulick
- Margaret Jessen
- Stephanie King
- Evan Langston
- John Markham
- Joan McCalmant
- Dennis McNamara
- Corey Miller
- Wifag Mohammed
- Tomas Podzimek
- Sami Scheetz
- Andrew Whiting
- Tremaine Woods
The Linn County Auditor, Recorder and Treasurer will meet on Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. at the Linn County Public Service Center to discuss applications received and the next steps in the process.
