A Stolen Truck and an Alleged ATM Robbery in Wyoming

Jones County Authorities are investigating a stolen pickup and an attempted ATM theft from earlier this week. According to the Sheriff’s Office, the incident occurred on Wednesday morning, when dispatch was alerted by an alarm company of an ATM alarm at the Citizens State Bank branch location in Wyoming.

Upon arrival, deputies discovered a F350 Super Duty truck attached by a chain to the drive-through ATM abandoned on the bank property. A quick search of the property did not locate any persons or suspects. A subsequent investigation revealed that the truck had been stolen from within the city limits prior to the incident at the bank. The ATM did become dislodged from its mount, coming to rest in the grass on bank property, causing severe damage.

Should money have been stolen from the machine, authorities will not make it public so as to not jeopardize any investigation. The owner of the truck used in the ATM incident is cooperating with the investigation and is not suspected of any involvement. No entry was attempted or made into the bank building.

At this time, no arrests have been made with the investigation still considered very active. If you have any information regarding this crime, The Jones County Sheriff’s Office urges you to contact them at (319) 462-4371 Ext 2.
