Severe Weather Threat for Wednesday Afternoon Shifts Southeast

The severe weather threat for this afternoon has shifted slightly southeast.

The National Weather Service says thunderstorms will continue mainly east of the Mississippi River this morning, with isolated severe storms possible.

Storms may redevelop in the early to mid-afternoon, which may still pose a severe risk mainly along and east of the Mississippi. Forecasters say uncertainty remains on the coverage and strength of storms later today. If storms redevelop, large hail, damaging winds and tornadoes will be possible.

There is now a Level 0 out of 5 risk for the majority of the KMCH listening area, including Delaware, Buchanan, Fayette, Clayton, Linn and northwest Dubuque and Jones counties. The southeast portions of Dubuque and Jones counties remain under a Level 1 out of 5 Marginal Risk, with a Level 2 out of 5 Slight Risk for Maquoketa, the Quad Cities and points to the southeast.
