RMC Auxiliary Purchased Beneficial Equipment for Radiology Department

The Regional Medical Center Auxiliary recently announced a more than $7000 donation for the purchase of equipment to assist the Radiology Department.
The money has been used to purchase an MRI Safe Pulse Oximeter.
A MRI is a noninvasive exam that uses a magnetic field and computer-generated radio waves to create imagery from the inside of our bodies. Due to the magnetic field, no metallic objects can go into the MRI area. An MRI Safe Pulse Oximeter allows staff to monitor patients’ oxygen and pulse rate while the MRI exam is in process.
Megan Demmer, Radiology Manager, thanked the Auxiliary for the gift, saying, “Having this equipment allows our staff to better monitor patients who need an MRI and identify when they may be struggling during their exam, which ultimately leads to a better patient experience.”
The Auxiliary is actively seeking new members, volunteers and donations to help support their cause. If you would like to help the mission of the Auxiliary, visit our website to learn more or contact Valerie Lindsay. You can also learn more about upcoming Auxiliary fundraisers on RMC’s website.
