Manchester Police and Joint County Emergency Response Team Execute Two Warrants

A more tactical response was needed yesterday morning when Manchester Police served 2 warrants.

According to Manchester Chief of Police Ben Davis, at around 9am yesterday morning, Manchester Police utilized the Joint County Emergency Response Team to serve 2 high-risk warrants stemming from firearms or illegal firearms-related crimes.

The warrants were served at 828 East Butler Street and 1001 North Franklin Street. Citizens likely saw an increased police presence in these areas yesterday. Both incidents resulted from separate cases, and investigations are still ongoing.

At this time, charges have been filed against 55-year old Charles G. Clute of Manchester, to include, but not limited to, Intimidation of a Dangerous Weapon, Possession of a Controlled Substance and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

Clute has been taken into custody and charged.

Other charges and other suspects may be identified or charged at a later date, as the investigations are ongoing.

The Joint County Emergency Response Team is utilized in specific incidents that require a more tactical response and mitigate potentially dangerous situations for the public or officers. Manchester Police are grateful for this specialized unit and its ability to assist with the

investigations. Their assistance resulted in all operations being completed with no negative outcome.
