Let’s Fly A Kite Well Attended

Cloudy skies and gusty winds didn’t keep dozens of families from attending this year’s “Let’s Fly A Kite” Event last evening at the West Delaware Middle School. A joint effort by the RMC Parents As Teachers and the West Delaware Together We Are Brain Health Campaign, the event featured a free sack supper, free kites and a whole lot of fun. RMC’s Karen Schmitz talked about the importance of RMC co-sponsoring the event.
Families attending the event had opportunities to connect with a variety of service agencies, from Suicide Prevention groups to mental health clinics…even the Manchester Public Library. Children’s Librarian Andrea Leplui was there, talking all things reading.
Representatives from Delaware County Emergency Management, Manchester Police and the Delaware County Sheriff’s Office were in attendance, as Deputy Jeff Zalaznik expressed his gratitude for being a part of the evening.
With all the moving parts that come with an event of this nature, Kristi Hoefer from RMC’s Parents As Teachers said it really was a team effort
While windy, the kites flew well…and much fun was had.
