Manchester City Council Meeting Recap

The City of Manchester is turning one of its intersections into a four-way stop. On Monday night, the Manchester City Council approved adding stop signs in all directions at West Marion Street and South 5th Street. City Manager Tim Vick explains:

The stop signs will be installed this week.

Vick says the City of Manchester is also collaborating with Kluesner Sanitation to host a spring clean-up day on Saturday, May 10th. From 7 am to 1 pm, Manchester residents will be able to drop off one pickup truck or single-axle trailer load of acceptable rubbish at no charge at Kluesner’s transfer station at 2372 180th Avenue south of Manchester.

Kluesner Sanitation is creating a flyer detailing permissible and non-permissible items, as well as items subject to additional fees (such as TVs and appliances) or exclusions (such as hazardous waste).

And the Manchester City Council has approved temporarily closing South Franklin Street for several events this summer.

Those events include F&M Bank’s 100 Year Celebration Block Party on June 7th, Ridiculous Days on June 19th and the Manchester Vitality Endowment Community Street Dinner and Social Event on August 15th.
