A portion of Highway 13 in Linn County will be closed to traffic for a short time next month.
Repairs to the CN railroad crossing on Highway 13 between Central City and Coggon will require fully closing the road to traffic. The road closure will begin Monday, May 5th and run through Thursday, May 15th, weather permitting.
A marked detour route will be in place using Iowa 13, U.S. 151, Iowa 38 and U.S. 20.
The Iowa DOT reminds motorists to drive with caution, obey the posted speed limit and other signs in the work area, and be aware that traffic fines for moving violations are at least double in work zones.
