National Day of Prayer Event in Manchester

Today is the National Day of Prayer.

It’s an annual day of observance designated by the United States Congress and held on the first Thursday of May, when people are asked “to turn to God in prayer and meditation”.

A National Day of Prayer event is taking place tonight at Tirrill Park bandshell in Manchester. Tonight’s gathering was organized by Alexa Weber, who wanted to do something good for the community. She says it will be a casual come-and-go event with prayer, live music and worship.

You can use the seating at the bandshell or bring your own chairs and blankets. Kids and families are welcome, so you can also take in the event while playing at the nearby playground or having a picnic.

It’s free for everyone and non-denominational. Tonight’s National Day of Prayer event in Manchester at Tirrill Park begins at 6 pm – held rain or shine.
